Willie Hoffman is a designer, philosopher, educator, and craftsman. While studying philosophy at the University of Virginia he co-founded the Center for Experimental Living, whose mission is to expose valuable misinterpretations of normative reality. Willie has a Masters in Elementary education from Temple University and taught 4th grade and Kindergarten in Philadelphia Public Schools. Carpentry and woodworking is a skill handed down to him through his father and grandfather and he has 9 years of professional experience as a carpenter and cabinetmaker. Hoffman’s latest project is Playable Studio, a furniture making shop creating pieces of functional play for all ages. Recently Playable Studio has added design workshops for young people. Willie lives with his wife and two children in New Haven, CT.
